Hiroyuki Hara
After completing university and working outside the prefecture, he returned to Kurashiki in 2010 and joined the family business, Shono Tochi Co., Ltd., engaging in land management.
In 2021, he established a company specializing in the travel industry. He now plans and develops tours based in Kurashiki, including one-day tours for inbound visitors.
He also serves as chairman of the Kurashiki Observatory—the first private observatory in Japan—founded by his great-grandfather in 1926.
To learn more about the company and the observatory, he researched documents and materials left behind by his predecessors. Through this research, he discovered lesser-known stories about the history of Kurashiki.
